About Climate Wise
Climate Wise project is participated by the Cities of Canning, Cockburn, Fremantle, and Rockingham and the Towns of East Fremantle and Kwinana. This project helps the participating councils to reduce their community greenhouse gas emission through assisting the communities to reducing their energy use, increasing recycling and ensuring a sustainable life style. The specific features of this program are:
-
This program provides an effective way for councils to meet the rising community concern for greenhouse action and demand for practical information to address their emissions. In the past, different materials and services have been developed and trialled to support residents and small businesses in taking greenhouse-wise technology and behavioural changes.
-
The projects developed and trialled have shown themselves to be effective in reducing greenhouse emissions.
-
The Regional Greenhouse Gas Program helps building strong partnerships with universities and research institutes to extend the range and build rigor into the projects.
-
The program provides multiple avenues for council to engage with the community through newsletters, courses and services and the council is profiled on all information and publicity materials prepared.
